When a company has been in business for over 50 years. You can be sure of one thing: they are doing something right.

Jesse Dolinger started the business in 1955, after working for a company in West Grove for a short while. Frances, his wife joined in by taking the phone calls.

Initially, Dolinger Electric provided service to businesses and homes in Nottingham, Oxford, West Grove and Avondale. Back in the 50’s there was a lot of competition & the economy wasn’t that good.

In the beginning, the company was one-man show, with Jesse doing virtually everything. Gradually, the business began to grow as he focused on commercial and light industrial properties. Every couple of years a new employee was hired to keep expanding.

Christine, his daughter, joined Jesse in the business part-time with the bookkeeping until graduating college in 1975. February of 1979 began full time office manager and bookkeeper.

Daniel, his son, joined the business in June 1983. Working part-time with the business since he was 13, gained hands-on electrical construction experience.

Jesse established a business relationship with Herr Foods, whom he called his “closest and best” customer over the years. The mushroom industry also became an excellent industrial customer base.

Eventually Dolinger Electric expanded to institutional projects. Traveling to other counties and states to complete numerous awarded projects. We have worked for just about every school district: Oxford, Kennett, Avon Grove, Octoraro, and Unionville. Cecil Community College was an awarded project.

Dolinger Electric has attempted to keep the pace in the major changes in technology and equipment that has taken place over the years to secure a place in the market. High Voltage & transformer work for example is a specialty area in the company. The company has a line truck, two bucket trucks, trencher, under the road-boring machine, backhoe, skid loader, & six service trucks, all types of testing equipment and underground locators.

We are committed to quality service. Safety is an important factor in the industry today. Weekly meetings are a must in this industry. There is no room for error in the electrical construction. A company has to keep up with the latest in equipment and training which is a concern to a new or previous customer.

Our principles are ironclad after 50 plus years of serving the area. One of the successes of Dolinger Electric, are the employees that Jesse has hired who were well trained and conscientious about their work.

Dolinger Electric has performed commercial, industrial and residential work in Chester County, Lancaster and York Counties and is licensed in the State of Maryland.

Dolinger Electric, Inc. is a member of the Chester County Electrical Contractors Association and the Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors Inc.
